December 19th, 2004

Hey, so now it's December 19th... HOLY! It's almost Christmas!! Yes!!

Well, things have been interesting at home, but I won't talk about that now... I'll talk about Greece again! So, the dogs... oh yes, that dog was ok. The car just tapped him and then he ran back over to us and kept following us. Sheesh.

While in Santorini we stayed at one of the only places open, called Stelio's Place... it was run by Stelio and his wife, Eva who were both lovely people. Our second day there we rented a car!! They only had standards but we were up to the challenge. I drove but it really stressed me out, since I'm not so hot at standards but luckily the roads weren't very busy. The island is so small that you can drive the whole length of it in less than an hour, so we drove to all the main villages and through some smaller ones. Santorini is an island right by a volcano island so Santorini was all black and red rocks, with black and red sand beaches which was really interesting! The whole island is like a big rock and all the villages just sit on top of the rock, most of them right on the edge of a cliff. The houses are all interesting shapes surrounded by little stairwells and walkways. And they're mostly painted white and a lot of the churches have blue domes on top! It was really cool.

At nighttime, since the island was so quiet that time of year, we had nothing to do so we'd just go to bed. Well, eat dinner out and then be followed home by all of our stray dog friends. And then go to bed!
We left Santorini and went back to our little hotel in Athens. I think we spent two nights there and it was pretty fun. They were really nice to us there... the bartender, Murphy, cooked all of our food and they even left us in charge once. Steph and I worked reception and Ern worked the bar. It was good times there.

While in Athens we went to the Acropolis one day and saw all the ancient ruins, including the Parthenon. Steph got in trouble there... she decided to take a rock, from the trillions of pieces of rocks on the ground, to give to her dad BUT a security guard caught her and made Steph give it to her. Haha... what a hoodlum. Ern got in trouble for something too that day... oh yeah, we went to the National Archeological Museum and Ern got in trouble for touching the glass. Haha... suckers. I got in trouble too though... for robbing someone. JUST KIDDING! For touching the glass too... they were pretty uptight at the museum. It closed early, so we had to leave anyway. Phhhffff.

Finally, we left Athens and flew to Berlin! That was exciting... by that point I was ridiculously excited to come home. Plus, every morning someone would be excited about Christmas and we'd all get excited. Oh boy... I love Christmas!

We got into Berlin pretty late at night so we tried to get to a hostel, but of course we had a hard time getting to any. So, we decided to go to a hostel type place kind of near by. We tried to walk, but got lost and scared. So, we took a taxi. The next day we moved to another hostel and ate falafel’s down the road! I think falafel’s have been one of the highlights of my whole trip. Maybe of my life.

That night though was AWFUL! We had a mixed dorm at our hostel and there were two, big Australian guys in our room who snored ALL night! It wasn't even snoring... it was more like dying. It was the most terrible noise we had ever heard. But, finally it was morning and they left AND WE went on a walking tour of Berlin! It was very fun, but cold! We saw lots of cool things... including some of the Berlin Wall!

Also, in Berlin we went to a few Christmas markets which was AWESOME! Ohhh, Christmas in Berlin! Steph and I ate a huge cookie ball with chocolate on it at one of the markets... it was delicious.

Finally, I left the girls after two days in Berlin and caught a flight to London. I met a friend on the plane... his name was Ritchie. He was a contortionist! I'd never met a contortionist before! And then in the airport, when I was buying a bus ticket, Ritchie pointed out Prodigy walking by! I thought that was pretty cool. That is now my main claim to fame, other than I know a contortionist. YES!

So, I spent a night alone in London and then caught a flight home the next day. It was the most exciting day! The flight home had FREE FOOD! And lots of it! It was fantastic.

Now I think the girls are in England. This is what I think they've been up to... I'll make it up a little bit. I know they flew out of Berlin to Nice, France. They went to Monaco and went into the casino and gambled away all of their money. They met a girl named Buffy who stole all their food and then they high tailed it out of there and went to Cinque Terre, in Italy where Ern got married. From Italy they flew to London and caught a bus to go see Anna Mitten, someone that Ern knows who owns a hostel near Stonehenge. I bet that's what they've been up to. They come home on the 21st and I'm going to go meet them at the airport! If you'd like to come too, you should! We could all go! And you could buy us all ice cream.

Well, I guess that's it for me. I hope everyone has a very, Merry Christmas! Thanks for reading about our trip!

December 14th, 2004

Hello lovers!! This is Bri writing... I'm at home now! I left the girls in Berlin on the 9th and made my way home on the 10th. I told those chumps that I would update the website since it's hard to do it when you're living in hostels, so here it is!

So, we haven't updated this in awhile. I think the last time we did was back in November... maybe after Sicily? So, after Sicily we went to Rome. Wait, maybe we did write about Rome. Just in case, Rome was awesome! We did a tour of the Coliseum and the Roman Forum. We also ran into Katherine Risley from Acadia! She just happened to be staying at the hostel we were staying at and waked in one morning while we were eating breakfast. That was pretty crazy! Ps - sorry if I spelt your name wrong, Katherine.

While in Rome we did a lot of sightseeing, but we also dressed up in togas! There was a toga party at the hostel we were staying at so that was cool... running around Rome, trying to find pizza, in togas. Hahahahahahahahahahhaha.

Anyway, after Rome we took a train to Bari, which was a VERY scary place. I heard a gun shot there... well, the girls didn't think that that was what it was. But, I did! It was scary whether it was a gunshot or not though. Luckily we weren't staying in Bari... we only had to go there to catch a ferry to GREECE!!

The ferry was about 15 and a half hours... it was disgusting! Actually, it wasn't that bad... we got into Patras and caught another train to Athens which stopped part way through because the train was malfunctioning. We had to get off the train and get on a bus... except it was all in Greek so we had no idea what was going on! People were yelling at each other all over the place!! Greek people are loud!

Anyway, we went to a hotel in Athens, which turned out to be awesome! There was a little bar in the hotel and all the men who ran the hotel or worked there hung out in the bar. They invited us down for a welcome drink of Ouzo, a very gross Greek shot. The people there included Murphy the bartender, Vassilius the "boss" and George, the large, Greek man with a mullet. That night Murphy convinced us to go to Santorini, one of the Greek islands. We couldn't make the ferry that next morning so we spent another day in Athens and then headed to the island early the next morning.

Santorini was awesome... it's a tiny Greek island that is totally run by the tourist industry. While we were there it was completely shut down! But, it was still fun! On the first night we realized that there were a lot of stray dogs in Santorini... one started to follow us and eventually it turned into six. It was SCARY! They wouldn't leave us alone and when we tried to go into restaurants all these dogs followed us so people probably thought we had lots of weird dogs. They would run in the street around us and they weren't very smart... one was hit by a car!

Ok, I have to go now but I'll continue this exciting story soon! Oh, the dog wasn't hurt when it was hit by a car... so no worries! I don't want anyone upset over the stray dog!

November 26th, 2004

Hello friends! So, it's been awhile since we last wrote so we have a lot to say. Right now we're in Rome, but since Sevilla we've been to Portugal, Barcelona and Sicily!

Portugal:
Well, we took a night bus to Lisbon, from Sevilla, which was stinky. We arrived way too early in the morning and met a funny little girl named Jennifer from Regina. Jennifer gave us a map and some money for the metro. Thanks Jennifer! So, we went to our hostel which wasn't a hostel at all, it was a nice little room with three beds and nightstands! We toured around Lisbon that day and decided that the next day we would go to Sintra, a small town outside of Lisbon. People were very nice to us in Portugal... and they ALL spoke English! The only not nice person we saw in Portugal was an old woman who was being tormented by some guys. It made her really upset and she threw a huge rock at them. We were pretty scared.

So, Sintra was beautiful! It was small, and there were white lights hanging from all the trees. There were lots of parks, palm trees and palaces. Our second day there we went to see some of the palaces and met a wonderful Canadian couple. We pretended they were our grandparents. It was nice to hang out with our grandparents for awhile.

We spent only three days in Portugal and then headed straight to Barcelona.

Barcelona:
We got into Barcelona in the evening and found our way to a cool hostel. There was a big fruit market off the main street, La Rambla, and we bought food to make the most delicious omelets! Oh umm. We toured around the city the next day and saw some cool architecture and also ate gelati! That night we went out to a place where we got free dinner... it was mediocre. We met some friends and when to a pub and hung out around a barrel. The best part of our time in Barcelona was... FALAFEL!

Sicily:
We left Barcelona and then things got fun. We flew to London where we spent the night on the airport floor. Steph, unfortunately, got sick all night. We relocated so we could be close to the washroom. She must have drunk some bad water. Bad Stephanie!

We had another flight out of there the next morning and things got even more fun! Steph says she was sick again but Ern and Bri know that she was just trying to get free food from the flight attendants. But, it worked for her! Passing out always does! She got a free bottle of water and a free chocolate granola bar! Plus, she got to sleep across three seats while Erin and Bri were mad and smooshed in the back.

Anyway, we arrived in Palermo and it was ugly and there were mean men at the train station so we were outta there! We caught a train to Taormina where we stayed for four nights. Life there was good... we went to the beach, joined the Mafia, and ate marmelada. Ern and Steph took a day trip to Mount Etna, which happened to erupt that very day!!!! They ran really fast down that mountain. That's a lie. They did hike up it though and it was spectacular. Bri went to the beach. We met some cool friends there and they were very nice to us, although they were American. Except for Darcy, James and Gibralto who were not. American, that is. They were also nice.

We took the night train to Rome and sat in a coach with a lovely Italian man who gave us his sandwich and an apple! Bri ate it all and didn't share at all. We got into our hostel about two hours ago... and there's a toga party here tonight! You are all invited. So, see ya here tonight! We have to go because there's free breakfast, fatties! None for you. Sorry! See ya!

November 12th, 2004

We are in Sevilla right now! We just arrived today and a woman wooed us into staying at her hostel. We will be here for two nights and then we are off to Lisbon for four nights! The last few days we have been in Cadiz, which was awesome! We went to the beach one-day and another day we went to the Rock of Gibraltar where there were monkeys! That sat on Bri and Steph's head! And one ate out of Erns pocket. It was very scary!

We will probably be back here, using the Internet, tomorrow to write more about all of our adventures! We love you! And sorry about the guestbook! We have had a hard time trying to fix it! You crazy kids keep filling it!

November 3rd, 2004

Ola! We are in Spain! We caught a train from La Rochelle to Barcelona which was very interesting... it was a night train and when we first got on Bri tried to recline her seat but smooshed the little man sleeping on the floor behind it. He yelled at her in French. There was also a drunk man running around the train sitting in other people’s seats. He stuck his butt in Erns face and then sometimes crawled down by his bag behind Steph's seat. He was weird.

We kept taking trains right through Barcelona and onto Alicante, which is on the southeastern coast of Spain. And it is the most beautiful place in the whole world. We arrived late last night and walked to our hostel. It was a beautiful walk! There were palm trees everywhere and white marble sidewalks! Our hostel is also very lovely and we have our own room! We also have a balcony that overlooks a fortress and a beautiful church. And we are two minutes from the beach! We went today for a few hours and it was about 25 degrees! We got to use our bathing suits for the first time! We also got to wear skirts and flipflops. We love our lives here.

We are planning on staying here for about five nights or so. We want to try to get to Portugal but we will see how it goes! Spain is awesome! We are having a party here tomorrow night! You are all invited! Woo fiesta!

Our Week in France

We arrived in Paris, but not really Paris... we had to catch an hour-long bus to Paris. In Paris we stayed in the shabby hotel de Medicis. It was pretty shabby, but there was a bidet in our room! Woopwoop! And we had no food, so we ate cold bean and cheese sandwiches. It was slightly depressing.

Our time in Paris was short but we did see some lovely things including the Eiffel Tower! And also the Notre Dame Cathedral where we met the mayor of the West Indies! Or so that man told us.

We caught a train from Paris to Dinan to stay with a lovely family that Steph knows. They were incredible to us! We stayed there for six nights and ate like the French. Which is how we wish we always ate.

While we were there we went to Saint Malo which is a lovely walled coastal city. We also went to Mont St Michel, which was beautiful! We ate some tasty food and drank some lovely juice de goyave!
We left Dinan and headed to La Rochelle, which is where Erns beautiful friend Paula lives. She was also very lovely to us. While we were there we visited Ile de Re, which is a fantastic island with lots of beaches, and ice cream stands. Yumm.

We left La Rochelle and caught a train to Barcelona. People in France were very hospitable to us. Thank you... we love you!

Our Week in Ireland

We spent about a week in Ireland and it was totally cool! We flew into Dublin and spent our first night there. We didn’t really have much of a plan for our week in Ireland so we went to a tourist place and decided to go on a three-day bus tour of Southern Ireland! Yes!!

We left Dublin early the next morning on a little green bus called the Paddywagon. There were about 30 people on the bus tour, including a bus driver/tour guide with a ridiculous Irish lisp and we could barely understand him... except when he made a joke, because he always snickered at his own jokes. Beside the bus driver we met some VERY cool people, like Jesse! From the United States! He signed our guestbook. Yes! Thank you Jesse!

Anyway, on the first day of the bus tour we went to very cool places like Clonmacnoise which was a cool monastery and Galway where we spent a night and went out to a pub! Hmm Guinness! Jesse bought us one! Thank you Jesse!
The next day we went to the Cliffs of Moher, which are about 750 meters tall, on the coast of Ireland! It was incredible! Thank you Jesse!

From there we went to a cool surf town where a wonderful woman from South Africa, named Jane, treated us to hot chocolate! We love her very much. We were the poor bums on the tour... when everyone else ate in pubs we ate peanut butter and banana sandwiches... outside the pub. So, that was very nice of her!

That night we stayed in Killarney and celebrated Christmas in Killarney! Well, maybe we didn’t BUT we did go out to a pub! There was a band that played and when they played the national anthem, and everyone else was standing, we didn’t know what was going on. We stood eventually.

The next day we went to Cork, but we dot want to talk about that now. After Cork we went to the Blarney Castle where we kissed the Blarney Stone. And Ern caught Hep A. Eww. Just kidding! We all did. Anyway, the tour was really nice and we headed back to Dublin. We spent two more nights there and ran into one grumpy man who kicked us off his steps. Pssshaw.

Before leaving for France we went to Limerick and a lovely little town called Six-Mile Bridge. We stayed in a beautiful hostel called Jamaica Inn and then caught a bus the next morning to the airport. And flew to France!

October 13th, 2004

Hi guys!! Today is October 13th and we are in Glasgow, Scotland right now for the night. We've been having loads of adventures - so we will tell you a few of them! For about the past week we've been staying with Jean at her place in Edinburgh. It was very lovely and we would all like to move there sometime. Edinburgh is known as the City of the Dead and it's a pretty scary place (only because of ghosts, not because of guns or bad men). We went on a ghost tour on our first night - and we got in for free!! Woot Woot! We saw the burial sites of some pretty bad apples...and they also stuck us in a tomb with a Poltergeist!! We didn't see the Poltergeist, BUT Ern had bruises the next day. Sheesh.

The next day we went on a tour to the highlands! That was awesome, it was soooo beautiful! We visited some lovely places like Glencoe and Loch Ness and we got as far as Inverness. We were hoping to see Nessie...we heard there was a £250,000 award for a nice clear picture, I wish I won that award. After the tour we met up with our lovers...haha - just kidding! We met up with Nadine's totally cool brothers Adam and Donald and their awesome friend Mike! We all went out to a pub and then to some bars. One was very fun, one was very sketchy. It was neat to see what the nightlife was like there. The next day was Thanksgiving, so we had Thanksgiving dinner with the boys at their cool hostel! Oh yum. Oh yum yum.

We also visited some really great places like:
  1. Edinburgh castle - where we saw the crown jewels!
  2. Edinburgh Dungeon
  3. A couple art galleries - we saw Monet and Van Gogh and Rembrandt
  4. Arthur’s Seat - a big hill that we hiked!
We also had a few other interesting experiences. We were walking up a small street and saw two homeless men, one of which asked us for money. When we didn't give him any he proceeded to yell and swear at us. He told us to go home, which really hurt our feelings. "You're poor?? I'm really f'ing poor. So just f off." Wow, he was really mean. So then, we ran over, and smashed all his alcohol bottles...I think he learned his lesson. Haha - Just kidding! The last part wasn't true. He really did yell at us, and that is a true quote. But we just ran away. Boy, what an adventure.

We also have been eating a lot of free fudge from our friend down in the fudge kitchen (Jim's fudge kitchen). Jim says it's the best fudge in the world. It was alright. We also tried Haggis, Neeps and Tatties when we went out to dinner with Jean. It was delicious despite what anyone else says. We also ate caramel shortbread, and that was the best moment of all of our lives.

Accents are a little bit tough to understand here. For example - we passed a man who yelled to us - Give me a smell! We just smiled and walked a way - what the heck does that mean? We realized after that he said - Give me a smile. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. That was funny.

Tomorrow we are flying to Dublin. We have no friends there yet. We wish Nadine's brothers and Mike were around. Then I bet homeless men wouldn't harass us. Toodoloo! A nasty woman just yelled at us and Bri had to go away to her own computer, so I hope this post works!

October 6th, 2004

We are currently at the Lincoln Public Library using some free Internet, YES! We've been bumming around here the past few days and it's been really lovely. We visited the Lincoln Castle two days ago and yesterday we took the train to Newark and Sherwood (which is the home of Robin Hood)!?! Good Grief! We also ate our lunch like little bums in the park...we were eating chicken from the bone. We don't have much money. We are staying with a family here and the food is fantastic. And they are very sweet and good to us.

Tomorrow we are going to take the bus to Edinburgh and meet Jeano Bambino at the bus station. We have to go now because our free hour is up - but we will write again soon!

WARNING: Birmingham is a bad place.

October 1st, 2004

Today Ern and Steph got here! Right now we're in an Internet cafe, where we've been for 2038 hours trying to book buses. The girls have haven't slept yet, so they're pretty out of it. I wish they hadn't come. Oh! Just kiddin... anyway, we're headed to Lincoln for a few days to do some Tai Chi in the hills of Yorkshire. You think we're kiddin, but we're not. Steph has become a master. Amen.

Then we're headed from Lincoln to hopefully Edinburgh where we're going to see our lover Jean! Jean is really pretty and nice to us.

Amen.

September 28th, 2004

I’m in Germany now and its lovely... today we went on a cruise down the Rhine River, which was beautiful. I think the most beautiful countries on this trip so far have been Austria, Switzerland and Germany. I’m so surprised! I definitely thought it was going to be Italy. Maybe its because my Italian family hasn’t adopted me yet, so I donut appreciate it quite yet.

Hey! I’m meeting the girls on Friday... did I say that already? I’m pumped! Were going to Scotland and Ireland! Woopwoop!

September 27th, 2004

Ohh Mamma Mia! I can't believe it’s the 27th already! Hey! I'm in Switzerland right now and it is so beautiful. It's crazy because, as some of you may know, I was OBSESSED with going to Italy and was so pumped about it but in the end it hasn't been my favorite country. It was actually a little dirty! And then we went through Austria (which was VERY exciting because... the Sound of Music was filmed there! Haha) and then to Switzerland... good god, they're beautiful countries! And so clean! And there's lovely swans and flowers everywhere.

So anyway, life is good here... this tour with my mom is actually almost over. The girls are flying in on Friday! I can't believe it! Time has gone pretty fast. Has it gone fast at home? How is everyone at home, anyway? How’s the house? Good? I hope so! Nadders... I can't wait to come visit and make an Erns list! Oh man, that was fun.

Hey, thanks for signing the guest book everyone... it's so awesome reading it! I'm going to add a new question but I can’t even remember what it is... something funny. Anyway, gotta go... I love you!

September 19th, 2004

Oiy! I’m so annoyed at this computer. I keep trying to send emails but it won’t let me... for security reasons! So, I thought since I found this free Internet I should write on here. Holy! It’s been a long time! It’s been pretty hard to find any Internet and when we do its like 2103 Euros.

So, I’m in Italy right now! Were in Rome... oh and I cant find some keys on this Italian keyboard so don’t mind some mistakes. Anyway, yes! Italy! Unfortunately the first three days we’ve been here I was sick... I think I had something like the flu. And also... it was raining. Haha, but yesterday I fell in love with Italy again. We took a ferry to the island of Capri and it was exactly what I imagined Italy would be like. It was awesome. It’s this lovely island where the mountains just turn into a cove and the hills are full of lovely little villas. It’s awesome.

The first place we went in Italy was Pisa and I saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa. That was very cool... but also funny. I mean, its leaning! It started leaning after 25 years. Imagine how sad the architects were. But, now it’s one of the Seven Wonders of the World! Other than the tower Pisa was a little scary! Tons of men trying to sell fake watches, glasses and Louis Vetton bags. After that we went to Florence and I saw Michelangelo's David, which was probably one of the highlights of this trip for me.

Today we went to St. Peters Square and into St Peters Basilica. Did you know that Vatican was its own country? I didn’t! That’s crazy, I think. Anyway, I saw where the pope lives and also in St Peters we saw Michelangelo's Pieta! It was very beautiful... and that whole basilica is incredible. Unbelievable actually. Tomorrow morning we're headed to the Sistine Chapel. That is what I've been most excited about so I'm pumped!

Well, I wanted to write something to Steph and Ern here since I can't seem to send email. Hey girls! Did you guys buy Eurorail passes? Which one did you get? And about meeting... you fly in on the 1st right? Mom and I are going to be in London then so maybe you could just come to our hotel? Mom said you could sleep there if you want. That’s what we did when we flew in so maybe you’ll want to too. Anyway, let me know what you’re thinking or where you want to go when you get in, but just so you know were going to be right in London and we could meet you or you could take the Tube to our hotel! Ohh boy! I can't wait to see you!

Ok... I’m outta here! I'd like to write more... like, for example, this bus tour is the funniest thing in the world. I’m the youngest person on this tour and I would say that average age is probably hmm... maybe 55. Haha, somewhere around there. And some nights we go out to dinner and there's as much of any alcoholic drink you want. So, imagine a group of 48 people, average age 55, getting hammered! Its the funniest thing...we went to this one restaurant in Nice where at the end of the meal they served this alcohol that you drank in shots. So, here is this 60 something year old man standing up, with everyone cheering him on, doing a shot. I guess you have to know this man... no a shot drinker. Haha. It’s been pretty fun, but I am excited to drink with people my own age.

Wait, I guess I can write more... I forget when I wrote last but basically what we’ve done so far on this trip is travel from England across the English Channel to France where we went to Paris which I really liked. Oh, the Seine River is beautiful! And the Eiffel Tower was awesome! We left Paris and went to Biarritz, which is the best surf place in Europe! I walked around in the Atlantic Ocean, in France! Oh, and on a side note women go topless here on the beaches. Well, in France and Spain they did.

We left France and headed to Spain. Ohh... I really liked Spain a lot. We went to Madrid, which had a lot of fountains and to Barcelona, which was awesome! It has this huge, long street where people stay out sitting in cafes, walking, and hanging out all night! They have siestas in Spain (where shops and cafes close down so people can go chill out for a few hours in the afternoon) and then stores stay open until about 830. Very cool! And then we headed to Nice, which was pretty nice and also to Monaco, which was crazy! Oh man, what money can buy! And then from there we headed to Italy! The trip has been getting better with every day. There's just so much to see... it’s unreal.

Well, I gotta get going but thanks for the emails everyone and I hope you're all doing well!

September 2nd, 2004

Oh man! I'm so excited for some reason! I think its cause I just read the guest book and more people signed it! Woo! It's awesome... thanks guys. Haha, I really liked the sexual intercourse part that Screech wrote. Yes, that's true. I love you, Screech. How are you anyway? I haven't talked to you in so long!

Hey, so today I was thinking about a conversation/debate we had at 16 Earnscliffe one time... the one about 'could you fall in love with a bum'. Man, that was making me laugh today... and I was trying to explain it to my mom and I don't think she found it as funny. I still don't think I could fall in love with a bum. I mean, could you?

Anyway, today was a very cool day... wait... I haven't written in the last few days, so I'll say that the last few days have been really cool! Yesterday we went to St. Paul's Cathedral, which was VERY beautiful. There you can climb up to the top of the dome and look out over London. It's an awesome view. And today we went to the London Tower which is where the crown jewels are! After we walked over the Tower Bridge which is also incredible and then headed to the Tate Modern art gallery where we only stayed for about an hour but I say Andy Warhol artwork!

Tomorrow we're leaving our lovely, little hotel with the Italian desk clerk that talks to us in his boxers and slippers. Haha. And we're headed to the hotel that the tour is putting us in. On Saturday we're leaving for France! Ohhlala! So, I don't know how often I'll be able to write in this or send emails. So, I want you all to know (whoever is actually reading this!) that I really think you're very nice and lovely and I miss you.

On a side note... today I found my dream jeans. I'm very happy about this and feel you all should know. Erin, you would be proud of them.

August 30th, 2004

I forgot to say what we did last night... we went to see the Phantom of the Opera at the New London Theatre! I think that musical was one of the greatest events of my life, with Chicago following it. Mom seems to be on a musical kick because this morning we went to get tickets for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We're going to see that tonight and I'm going to pee my pants.

Anyway, today we went to the British Museum, which was huge! Oh man, Steph and Ern... we should definitely go back there. Plus... it's free! Oh, and girls... I have boyfriends lined up for you... our waiter today wants me to bring girlfriends to London for him and his waiter friends. Waiters here are crazy!

August 29th, 2004

So, today is Sunday... and we're still in London. We’re going to be here until the 3rd or 4th. London is such a lovely place! The only thing that makes me sad is how fashionable people are... they are also lovely and I am a bum! Oh well... anyway, the last few days we're basically been on a tour bus of London and today we took a boat to Greenwich and hung out on the Greenwich meridian, which is fun I think.

The other night we saw Chicago, which was one of the most exciting events of my entire life. Oh BABY, I love musicals. We might get to see The Phantom of the Opera in the next few days as well. Before the bus tour starts, so in the next four days or so, we're hopefully going to go to Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, London Tower, and the Tower Bridge and maybe walk around Buckingham Palace. We're also going to go shopping... ohhlala!

Hey... thanks to people who are signing the guestbook. It's actually pretty cool to read it, so if you haven't signed it I hope you feel guilty now and do.

Ps - I love you!

August 26th, 2004

Hey! I'm in Europe! Man, travelling to Europe is a crazy thing, in my opinion.... I'm so tired right now but I'm trying to stay awake to get use to the time difference. Anyway, the flight was good, but long and they served us breakfast on the plane at 2:30 in the morn. Is that weird? I thought it was. Anyway, we haven't done anything exciting yet except sleep in our little hotel room... rooms here are awesome! I have to crawl over mom's bed to get to mine. One funny thing happened today... I was drying my hair when it all got caught in the back of the dryer and then it started to smell like smoke... then this very loud alarm went off for a few seconds! I could hear the lady at the desk walking around the hallways looking into rooms, but when I opened the door all she said was "Just checking!"... I don't know what that meant. Anyway, I guess that's all I have to say about today... so far I think London is very cool. And everyone here wears very nice shoes. Everyone. It's crazy!

Bri is headed to England on Wednesday, August 25th for a month long bus tour with mom... and then Ern and Steph are meeting up with her in England at the start of October. After that, our plans are not really made yet... so, come back again soon to find out what totally awesome things we will be doing!
